Macron survives no-confidence vote

FRENCH president Emmanuel Macron survived an unexpected no-confidence vote over claims his government covered up a scandal involving his ex-bodyguard.

French President Emmanuel Macron’s popularity has plummeted to its lowest level since his election in May 2017, according to data released by seven French polling institutes.

Only 36.3 percent of respondents said they were “satisfied” with Macron’s performance, a drop of 3.1 percentage points since June, according to a report by regional daily Ouest France, which calculated an average approval rating based on findings from France’s seven largest pollsters.
