Major announcements at the Disney D23 Expo 2019 in Anaheim

The D23 Expo at the Convention Center in Anaheim, California, USA, on Sunday comes to a close where  information about already announced and upcoming releases like “Frozen II,” “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” and “Black Widow,” Disney shared details about previously unannounced projects like “Raya and the Last Dragon” and “Black Panther II”  was announced during a panel at its D23 Expo in Anaheim.

The expo has covered everything coming out of the Walt Disney Company including new movies, the Disney+ service, and theme park updates.

The expo, providing fans with unprecedented access to Disney films, television, games and theme park experiences, ran from 23 to 25 August.

Among the various announcement that were made, writer and director Ryan Coogler revealed that the next installment of Black Panther will be released on 6 May 2022.

However, at the moment, the title of the film is not known.

Ewan McGregor is returning to the Star Wars universe and will resume his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a new series for Disney+.

McGregor, who played Kenobi in three Star Wars prequels from 1999 to 2005, appeared at the end of day one of Disney’s expo to reveal the news to fans.

Disney Parks revealed the first image of its forthcoming Avengers Campus attraction which will be a ‘Marvel Land’ style superhero experience and is is set to open in 2020.

Also a live-action movie of the Disney classic Lady and the Tramp, is being made exclusively for the company’s new streaming service Disney+.

The new film will follow roughly the same story line as the original animated film, released back in 1955.

This was the sixth time the D23 Expo, which is held in California, has taken place.
