Malpensa airport closed for an hour after possible sighting of a drone

Malpensa airport was closed for an hour just before 7pm after the control tower of the airport received the warning of “a flying object” a few kilometers away, south of the runway.

Reports confirmed of a bright dot recorded by the radar which could have possibly been a drone or a helicopter.

This led to an immediate intervention by the authorities which saw all landings blocked, with the aircraft diverted to Linate and Bergamo Orio al Serio.

After about an hour the emergency situation was solved and the airport returned to full activity.

Now it will be up to the investigators to find the answer to the yellow bright dot that appeared and then disappeared, after an hour, from the radar of the airport.
