Malta-Based Von der Heyden Group Strengthens Poland Presence With New 4-Star Hotel In Poznań

Malta-headquartered international investment and development group Von der Heyden Group is further strengthening its longstanding presence in Poland with the announcement of a new four-star hotel under its hospitality brand, IBB Hotel Collection, at the landmark AND2 development in central Poznań.

Malta-headquartered international investment and development group Von der Heyden Group is further strengthening its longstanding presence in Poland with the announcement of a new four-star hotel under its hospitality brand, IBB Hotel Collection, at the landmark AND2 development in central Poznań.

The 100-room hotel, scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2028, will form part of AND2, a major mixed-use development being completed by Von der Heyden Group at Plac Andersa, one of Poznań’s most prominent business districts.

Poland has been an important market for Von der Heyden Group for more than three decades, with Poznań holding a particularly significant place in its history.

Working in partnership with the City of Poznań, the Group has played a central role in transforming Plac Andersa from an underdeveloped area into one of the city’s leading commercial districts. Its developments include the Poznań Financial Centre, completed in 2001, Andersia Tower in 2007 and Andersia Business Centre in 2012.

AND2 represents the fourth and final phase of this long-term urban development, bringing the Group’s total investment in the area to approximately a quarter of a billion euros.

Rising approximately 117 metres, AND2 will comprise around 40,000 sqm of office space, complemented by hospitality, retail, health, fitness and other amenities. The new IBB Hotel Collection property will form an integral part of the development, catering to both business and leisure travellers.

The announcement also marks a return for IBB Hotel Collection to a city where the brand previously operated the IBB Andersia Hotel for 15 years, building a strong relationship with the local market.

Commenting on the announcement, Samuel Santos, CEO of IBB Hotel Collection noted that the opening of a new IBB Hotel Collection property within AND2 marks an important new chapter both for the brand and for the Group’s long-standing relationship with Poland.

“For Von der Heyden Group, this project is another example of our long-term approach to international investment and development, combining our Maltese base with a substantial track record of delivering landmark projects across Europe. This latest project brings us back to a city that treated us so well for 15 years with our previous IBB Andersia Hotel. We are looking forward to creating a contemporary hotel that caters to both business and leisure travellers, whilst becoming an integral part of this iconic urban development project,” said Mr Santos.

IBB Hotel Collection, based in Malta, is the hospitality arm of Von der Heyden Group and operates hotels in selected European urban and leisure destinations. Its current Polish portfolio includes IBB Grand Hotel Lublin, a 72-room property. The new Poznań hotel represents a further step in the brand’s international growth and underlines the Group’s continued commitment to the Polish market.
