The Maltese Government is considering reopening it’s embassy in the Libyan capital Tripoli.
The Libya Express quoted Malta’s ambassador to Libya Charles Saliba saying that the Maltese government was willing to return its embassy to the capital Tripoli.
The ambassador made his remarks during a meeting with the UN-backed Deputy Prime Minister of Libya Ahmad Maiteeq in Tripoli, according to a statement issued by his media office.
“The deputy prime minister stressed the depth of the historic relations between Libya and Malta, expressing hope for the return of economic and commercial activities between the two countries,” the statement said.
The Maltese ambassador expressed his country’s willingness to have its embassy in Tripoli resume work, as well as continue joint working in different fields and activating joint committees.
