Malta – More drivers grievously injured after two traffic accidents

A 28-year-old motorcyclist who resides in Birkirkara was hospitalised following a traffic accident in Valley road, Birkirkara, today the 26th of July, 2019 at about 1700hrs.
Preliminary investigations by the District Police revealed that a collision took place between a Peugeot motorcycle driven by the 28-year-old man and a Citroen C3 driven by a 22-year-old woman residing in Marsascala.
The motorcyclist was later certified as suffering from grievous injuries.
Police investigations are still underway. Earlier, today at about 0800hrs, the Police were informed that assistance was requested in Triq l-Intornjatur, Birkirkara.
District Police went immediately on site, where preliminary investigations showed that a 40-year-old man, who resides in Zabbar was driving a Toyota Vitz when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a pole.
An ambulance was called on site and the driver and two passengers were taken to Mater Dei Hospital for medical assistance. The passenger, one aged 40 and resides in Birkirkara and the other who is yet to be identified were certified of suffering from serious injuries, while the driver has been certified as suffering from grievous injuries.
Duty Magistrate Dr I Farrugia LLD appointed a magisterial inquiry, while Police investigations are still ongoing.
