TVM reports that a motor cyclist lost his life in an accident which happened in Valley Road, Msida, in the direction of Birkirkara.
The accident took place in Valley Road, Birkirkara, at 4am, the police said.
The Malta Independent and TVM reports that the biker, Mark Bishop aged 41, from Sannat Gozo was riding a Honda CB500FA.
Bishop is a father of two.
A medical team from Mater Dei was called for assistance and certified the man dead on site.
Magistrate Ian Farrugia is conducting an inquiry.
