Damaged Gaza aid ship to be towed to Mediterranean port – Foreign Minister
The damaged Gaza aid ship Conscience will be towed to a Mediterranean port for repairs, Foreign Minister Ian Borg said Sunday. The vessel was allegedly struck by Israeli drones outside Malta’s waters earlier this month. A government surveyor found only minor damage, and Malta offered to fund repairs at sea. Borg said the 12 people onboard will enter Malta before being repatriated. Six others had already been flown out on May 5. Opposition Leader and Partit Nazzjonalista head Bernard Grech said the PN’s stance on the government’s euthanasia proposals will remain pro-life. Speaking on NET TV, he noted that internal and international discussions within the party are ongoing, while also considering input from various groups. He emphasized that the PN will continue engaging in dialogue to ensure its position upholds individual dignity. Grech stressed the party’s commitment to life, saying decisions are always made with people in mind. He also criticized the government for failing to address the rising cost of living, accusing it of abandoning the public as prices soar.
