US Ambassador to Malta mentioned in Epstein’s files
Somers Farkas, who became the US ambassador to Malta two months ago and is known for supporting Donald Trump, was referenced in a 2010 email to Jeffrey Epstein from a PR agent suggesting ways to improve Epstein’s public image. The agent noted Farkas had expressed personal liking for Epstein. At the time, Epstein was building connections with influential figures; he later faced conviction for sex crimes involving minors and died in jail in 2019.
Recently released US Justice Department files on Epstein include millions of documents, images, and videos, mentioning many prominent individuals such as Prince Andrew and Bill Clinton. Farkas, previously a philanthropist and advertising executive, stirred controversy in Malta by stating she would actively pursue Trump’s agenda.
The files also detail past correspondence between Epstein and Farkas’s husband, Jonathan Farkas, who sought Epstein’s advice on a woman he was dating, with Epstein warning her was not trustworthy. – Times of Malta
Ministers’ dip in performance review
Clyde Caruana topped MaltaToday’s Rank the Minister survey for the second year, scoring 5.72 out of 10, a drop of 0.5 points from last year. No minister reached the 6-point mark this year, and seven scored below five. Excluding Caruana, none scored above five among current non-voters. Commemorative celebration for Pole who died at sea
Members of Malta’s Polish community came together to pay tribute to 13‑year‑old Oliwia Wojnowska, who tragically lost her life after being swept away by a wave in Ċirkewwa.Oliwia had been in the company of her 17‑year‑old brother and their father when the wave dragged her out to sea. Despite her father’s desperate attempt to rescue her, he was unable to reach her in time. Her body was recovered several days later. – TVM
