Health Ministry says doctors association slowed down reforms
The Health Ministry has rejected claims made by the Medical Association of Malta (MAM), accusing the association of “opposing, obstructing, or slowing down” several reforms. In a statement, the Ministry emphasised that Minister Jo Etienne Abela had expressed full support for healthcare professionals during a recent press event, while condemning “fake news” targeting the Health Services. The Ministry further criticised MAM for being misleading and maintaining a confrontational stance over the past six months, claiming that the association is falsely implying that a legally mandated Ministerial Inquiry is undermining the medical profession.
