President calls for sustainability in economic development

600 persons turn up for Caritas lunch at Curia
Caritas celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Christmas Day lunch for the lonely with a record turnout at the Archbishop’s Curia on Wednesday. Nearly 600 guests attended the event, supported by 100 volunteers, according to Caritas PR officer Marica Cassar. Guests were welcomed with hot chocolate or coffee and sweet buns, followed by pumpkin soup and a festive main course of turkey, roasted potatoes, and vegetables. The meal concluded with traditional Maltese sweets. “We had our rehabilitation therapeutic communities serving those attending as part of their giving back to society,” said Cassar. (Times of Malta)
