Malta Public Transport will be organising special bus services for the BBC Concert taking place on 4th July 2026, at the Granaries in Floriana.
In order to provide a more convenient transport option to the general public for this popular event, featuring the BBC Concert Orchestra and the BBC Radio 1 Dance festival series, additional public transport options will be available at the end of the concert, in addition to the usual Night Routes operated by the company.
Extra trips will operate to a wide range of localities following the concert, with services running until approximately 2am to major destinations such as Sliema, St Julian’s and Buġibba. Additional routes will serve areas including Mosta, Rabat, Dingli and Siġġiewi until around 1.50am, while services to Marsaskala, Marsaxlokk, Birżebbuġa and Xgħajra will operate until approximately 01:45. Further connections to Three Cities and surrounding areas will also be available in the late-night schedule.
These extra trips are additional to the regular Malta Public Transport Night service which covers localities such as Sliema, St Julian’s, The Three Cities, Birkirkara, Rabat, Dingli, Ħamrun, Qormi and Siġġiewi past midnight, thereby offering alternative options to passengers returning home after the concert. Regular night services will continue to operate as per schedule, with a number of them also having additional services through the night.
All Tallinja Card holders can enjoy the BBC Concert with free travel on these special service trips as well as the regular night trips. Passengers without a valid Tallinja Card can purchase tickets for €3, with both cash and contactless payment methods are accepted. Passengers are encouraged to make use of the Tallinja mobile app or website for real-time updates, route planning and service information.
