Malta to host 5+5 Dialogue meeting

At the end of the coming week Malta will be hosting the 5+5 Dialogue meeting. More commonly known as the dialogue meeting of western Mediterranean states, the 5+5 is an informal meeting that brings together countries with a Mediterranean shoreline, that is, France, Italy, Malta, Portugal and Spain on the European side, Mauretania, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya on the North African side.

Foreign Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela said Malta had taken the responsibility of co-presidency to represent the upper shores for a period of two years, a year ago when a meeting was held. He said the points to be discussed include migration, the Middle East peace process, the situation in Libya and climate changes.
