Maltese 17-year-old without driving licence fatally hits a cyclist in Bielawa, Poland

TVN Warsawa reports that a 17-year-old citizen of Malta, who was driving without licence, fatally hit a cyclist in Bielawa, near Warsaw,  

The accident occurred on Powsińska St. before 17.00 on Sunday and the teenager was arrested.

The driver of the Mercedes probably lost control of the vehicle on one of the road curves, turned to the left and collided with the cyclist. TVN Warsawa‘s website states that Piaseczno’s commissioner Jarosław Sawicki  said that the 77-year-old cyclist died on the spot.

The website said that “The policemen stopped the driver of the car. – This is a 17-year-old citizen of Malta who did not have the right to drive a vehicle – emphasizes Sawicki.” The teenager was arrested. The police said that the 17-year-old was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
