Merseyside Police confirmed they were called to Wild Cat and Ink bars on Back Colquitt Street around 3am.

Officers found two men who had received knife wounds and were taken to hospital for treatment.

A 33-year-old man, from Liverpool city centre, who had suffered a stab wound to his chest was taken to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, where he died a short while later.
