Mild earthquake rattles Catania, Sicily

 An earthquake of magnitude 3.2 was registered at 3:22 am in north-eastern Sicily, in the province of Catania.


According to data from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (Ingv), the earthquake struck less than a kilometre deep and its epicenter near Acireale.

A few minutes later there was another quake of magnitude 2.5 with its epicenter a little further north, near Santa Venerina.
There are currently no reports of damage to persons or property.
