Media reported that Jose Mourinho did not want Manchester United to retain Ryan Giggs as part of the coaching staff because of his “extra-marital affair with his brother’s wife.”
It is thought that vice-chairman Ed Woodward wanted the class of 92′ member to be part of the team.
But Mourinho eventually opted for the services of Michael Carrick, who has since taken over training duties at Carrington.
Mourinho was sacked by the club on Tuesday morning.
Of course, Giggs played a key part in Louis van Gaal’s time as manager at Old Trafford, but many wondered why the current Wales manager was dismissed by their former boss.
Well, according to The Times ‘ story ‘The Inside Story Of How It Fell Apart’, this was the reason behind his thinking:
“Woodward was keen to keep Ryan Giggs on, but Mourinho vetoed the idea because he did not think the Welshman was a man he could trust because of his extra-marital affair with his brother’s wife.”
