Nadal announces retirement from tennis

Rafael Nadal, widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players in history, has announced that he will retire from professional tennis at the end of the season following next month’s Davis Cup Finals.

With 22 Grand Slam titles, Nadal ranks second on the men’s all-time list, behind Novak Djokovic, who has 24. He has dominated the French Open like no other player, securing 14 titles and achieving an extraordinary 112-4 record at the tournament. Nadal has also claimed each of the four major titles multiple times and spent a total of 209 weeks as the world No. 1.
