Netanyahu cuts short US visit after Tel Aviv attack…reports of IAF attacks on Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cut short his visit to the U.S. after the rocket attack on Tel Aviv that left seven people wounded. On news of the attack, Netanyahu warned that Israel he will “respond forcefully” against Hamas.

According to Israeli media reports, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) attacked military targets in Gaza Strip in retaliation.

A rocket fired from Gaza struck a home in central Israel early Monday morning and caught fire, leaving seven people wounded. The Israeli military saying it identified a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip and was investigating.

The rocket landed in Moshav Mishmeret, an agricultural settlement town north of Tel Aviv, comes at a time of high tension before the anniversary of Gaza border protests and an April 9 election campaign in Israel.

The incident also comes 10 days after rockets were fired towards Tel Aviv. Gaza’s Hamas leaders said they were fired accidentally.
