New rules in Lithuania for registration of foreign tourists from July

Rules for registering tourists in Lithuania are set to change as of 1 July this year. Guests arriving in the country will need to be registered in the National Tourism Information System, a task for each and every accommodation provider, Delfi news website reports

Dovilė Seliukė, head of marketing and communication at Travel Lithuania, official tourism agency, told Delfi that from 1 July 2024, all accommodation providers will have to use the new tourism information system and enter the data of their clients’ arrivals within 24 hours. According to Delfi, businesses are concerned that the new changes could lead to serious problems in terms of data security and some believe that not all rural tourism sites have internet access.
