A French-Spanish nun from the community of the Daughters of Jesus of Massac was slain in Nola, a town west of the Central African Republic.
Sister Inès Nieves Sancho, 77, was brutally killed on Monday just behind the house of the community of the Daughters of Jesus of Massac, the source said, adding that for the time being there is no further information on this crime.
Reports indicate that the77-year old was found beheaded early Monday according to the Vatican News website, while a bishop in CAR who hails from the same diocese in Spain as the nun said her throat had been slit.
Sister Inès Nieves Sancho had been residing in Nola since 1996, where she provided care to the local population.
