Parliament resumes as Johnson prepares to face MPs

British MPs returned to the House of Commons on Wednesday morning following the Supreme Court’s ruling it was not lawfully suspended.

The UK’s highest court ruled that Boris Johnson’s decision to suspend Parliament for five weeks broke the law.

The PM said he respected the decision as he cut short his visit to the United Nations in New York.

Opposition MPs are calling for him to resign.

But Downing Street insists Johnson will not stand down and will press on with his Brexit plans.
