French actor Alain Delon poses during a photocall at the 72nd annual Cannes Film Festival, in Cannes, France, 19 May 2019. Delon will receive a Honorary Palme D’Or award for his career during the festival which runs from 14 to 25 May.

The award has been mired in controversy because of his views on women and homosexuals, with Cannes Film Festival organizers saying Delon was “not perfect” but entitled to his opinions.
