Photo Story: Brazil increases graves at cemetery

An aerial view of the Vila Formosa cemetery, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Vila Formosa cemetery, in the eastern part of Sao Paulo, is the largest in Latin America. The number of burials in Vila Formosa cemetery surged due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

The grave diggers of Vila Formosa are working at a grueling pace, as their load has doubled to almost 60 burials per day. Workers are convinced the coronavirus is quietly killing far more than official statistics show.
