A few cars are seen on the Karl-Marx-Allee street with the TV tower in the background on the Car-Free Day in Berlin, Germany, 22 September 2019.

During the 18th edition of EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK, the European Commission’s flagship campaign promotions clean and sustainable urban transport.

Running from 16-22 September 2019, almost 3,000 towns and cities from about 50 countries joined with their activities promoting safe walking and cycling. EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK culminates each year in the Car-Free Day, when streets close for traffic and open for people.
