The 90th edition of the International Motor Show, which was scheduled to begin on 05 March 2020, has been cancelled due to the advancement of the (Covid-19) coronavirus disease in Switzerland.
The Swiss confederation announced on the day that all events involving more than 1,000 people would be banned until 15 March.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Switzerland rose to nine on Thursday, as the canton of Basel-City put a number of children into a two-week quarantine after one of their caregivers tested positive for the virus.
