Photo Story: Monuments in Poland dedicated to the Red Army soldiers destroyed

President of the Institute of National Remembrance of Poland in March 2022, appealed to local governments to remove from the public space all names and symbols that still commemorate persons, organizations, events, or dates symbolizing communism.

Monuments in Glubczyce, Byczyna and Staszow in southern Poland and Bobolice in the north were also demolished.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov condemned the demolition of the monuments.
