Reading Time: < 1 minute

Handout photos made available by NASA and acquired using the rover’s onboard Left Navigation Camera (Navcam), shows the landscape around NASA’s Mars Perseverance rover, on Sol 45, the 45th Martian day of the mission. In the main photo one can see an arc of a lens flare around NASA’s Perseverance Mars rover, on Sol 43, the 43rd Martian day of the mission.

A handout photo made available by NASA shows an image of NASA’s Ingenuity Helicopter acquired by NASA’s Perseverance Mars rover using its SHERLOC WATSON camera, on Sol 46, the 46th Martian day of the mission, 07 April 2021. The helicopter was released by the rover after being charged and is expected to fly in a dedicated fly zone no earlier than 08 April. Having landed on Mars on 18 February, Perseverance’s main mission on Mars is astrobiology and the search for signs of ancient microbial life, according to NASA. EPA-EFE/NASA/JPL-CaltechS
