Photo Story: Nationwide tribute to the NHS in the UK

Clap For Our Carers’ is an initiative started by Annemarie Plas where members of the public at 8pm on 23 April to give a round of applause for key workers, particularly NHS staff on the frontline treating patients with coronavirus.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined the nation in applauding frontline NHS workers risking their lives in the coronavirus pandemic.

William and Kate were joined by their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, in their salute to healthcare staff in the weekly Clap for our Carers event.

People across the UK have been showing their gratitude to all health and care workers every Thursday at 8pm from their doorsteps, windows and gardens in the form of clapping, banging on pots and pans and even setting off fireworks.
