According to reports, more than 20 rescuers are taking part in ongoing rescue operation of cavers trapped in the Wielka Sniezna cave, the longest and deepest cave in Tatra Mountains.

Two cavers have been trapped since Saturday 17 August after a narrow tunnel was flooded and blocked their exit.

Contact is yet to be established with the cavers and concern is growing.

Preparations are being made to use explosives to blow open a route into the cave.
