Photo Story: Romanian transports EU aid to Italy

A C-27 J Spartan aircraft of the Romanian Air Force took off on Saturday, April 25, from Otopeni Air Base, to Milan, Italy, with a consignment of 90,000 FFP 2. protective masks.

These masks are part of the reserve of medical countermeasures for the COVID-19 epidemic, based in Romania, on the basis of a grant worth € 10 million signed by DSU / IGSU with the European Commission through the Directorate-General Civil Protection and European Humanitarian Operations-DGECHO.

On the way back, the aircraft will return the team of Romanian doctors and assistants who participated in Italy, from 07 April, in missions to save the people affected by the new type of coronavirus, together with Italian medical staff.

The team of Romanian doctors and assistants were accompanied on this mission by a representative of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, as a liaison officer, with the mission to facilitate, together with the authorities of the authorities of the Romanian team into the Italian medical system.
