Photo Story: Solar eclipse in Asia

A solar eclipse is visible through cloud cover in Mysore, India, 26 December 2019. During the celestial annular solar eclipse, the moon covers the Sun’s centre, leaving the Sun’s visible rim to form a ‘ring of fire’ or annulus around the moon.

The next total solar eclipse will be on 14 December 2020 and will be visible across parts of southern Chile and Argentina, as well as south-west Africa and Antarctica.
