Photo Story – Staring in the Eye of the Storm

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Staring into the eye of the storm, is the title that astronaut Luca Parmitano  gave to a photo he took of Hurricane Dorian from the International Space Station.

Luca Parmitano is an Italian engineer and astronaut in the European Astronaut Corps for the European Space Agency. The astronauts work on missions at the International Space Station. He was selected as an ESA astronaut in May 2009.

CNN reports that the storm is currently heading northwest in the Atlantic to the Bahamas, where it is expected to make landfall sometime on Sunday.

The storm has strengthened into a Category 4 hurricane; while it’s forecast not to make landfall in Florida, it’s still expected to bring life-threatening winds and storm surges.
