Photo Story: Test flights begin of self-made advanced jet trainer in Taiwan

A handout photo made available by Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defence shows a prototype of the AIDC T-5 Brave Eagle advanced jet trainer undergoing a test flight at Ching Chuan Kang Air Base in Taichung, central Taiwan, 10 June 2020.

The Brave Eagle is developed by Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC), based on Taiwan’s Indigenous Defence Fighter (IDF) warplane, also known as the AIDC F-CK-1 Ching-Kuo. AIDC plans to begin mass production of the T-5 Brave Eagle in 2023.
