A Buddhist monk lights up an earthen lamp while worshiping at the Botataung Pagoda on the Thadinkyut full moon day on Sunday in Yangon, Myanmar.

The Thadinkyut festival, also called Lighting Festival, is held on the full moon day of the Burmese Lunar month of Thadingyut which marks the end of Buddhist lent and is a celebration to welcome the Buddha’s descent from heaven.
