Nowruz is the first day of the first month of the Zoroastrian year which Parsi communities in India reportedly set according to the Shahenshahi Calendar.

Parsis are the followers of the ancient Persian religion known as Zoroastrianism, and live mostly in India, Iran and Pakistan.
