Photo Story: The restoration of the Dutch Royal Golden Coach

Parts of the Dutch Royal Golden Coach are maintained at the Royal Stables in The Hague, the Netherlands.

Works are progressing so the coach will be completely restored, which is why this year the Glass Coach will be used to transport Dutch King Willem Alexander on ‘Prinsjesdag’, or Prince’s Day, on 17 September.

The annual event on the third Tuesday in September includes the King’s ‘Speech from the Throne’ in the ‘Ridderzaal’, or ‘Knights’ Hall’, which officially opens the Dutch parliamentary year and outlines their upcoming policy.
