PM Joseph Muscat refuses to comment on whether he will step down – The Headlines: The Independent

The Independent reports that two Italian coast guard officers will stand trial next month over the 2013 tragedy in which 268 migrants, including, 60 children, lost their lives at sea. The accused argue that Malta sent the wrong signals to the Italian authorities.

The Independent asks Prime Minister Joseph Muscat whether he will step down before the next election. Muscat would not commit but replied that he intends to present the budget and implement it.
