Pope Paul VI and Msgr. Oscar Arnulfo Romero will be canonised in St. Peter’s Square next October 14, during the Synod of Bishops dedicated to young people.

Pope Francis said this during the Ordinary Public Consistory for some causes of canonization, held on Saturday in the Vatican.

The other saints to be proclaimed on October 14 by the Pope are the Italian priests Francesco Spinelli and Vincenzo Romano and the nuns Maria Caterina Kasper, German, and Nazaria Ignazia of Saint Teresa of Jesus, Spanish.
