Porsche recalls over 500 Panamera models in China

Porsche is to recall more than 500 Porsche Panamera models sold in the Chinese market due to possible safety hazards.

Porsche’s China sales company, starting April 8, will recall 505 Panamera models manufactured between Aug. 17 and Sept. 26, 2018.

According to the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) the recall is due to improper welding inside the gateway control units of these cars and could lead to communication break-off and affect vehicle control.

Porsche will replace the gateway control units of the recalled cars for free.

Earlier this week, the company began to recall 223 imported 718 and 911 models in China over defects with the nuts that fasten the side airbag sensors.
