Former Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi praised Malta’s Prime Minister Joseph Muscat while criticising the current Italian triad of Conte, Salvini, and Di Maio about the recent stand-off in the Mediterranean which saw 49 persons left stranded off Maltese shores.

Through a post on his social media, Renzi said that the one who solved the problem, though being a Prime Minister wasn’t Giuseppe Conte, though being a Milan fan, wasn’t Matteo Salvini and despite speaking Italian wasn’t Luigi di Maio.

Renzi said that Muscat showed leadership qualities in the way he dealt with the situation, qualities which contrast with those showed by the Italians.
