Restoration starts today on The Deposition (The Florentine Pieta) by Michelangelo in Florence

Handout photos made available by the press office shows conservators posing with the sculpture ‘The Deposition’ (The Florentine Pieta) by Italian artist Michelangelo, residing at the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo in Florence.
Its restoration starts today, Saturday 23 November, and the works’ progression will be visible to the public. The end of restoration is scheduled before the summer’s start.
