With this win, Gabriel Farrugia starts building a healthy lead in the men’s table, while the women’s event looks set to be a very intriguing affair, given that the first two podiums of the season were occupied by six different athletes.
In the Club’s table, among the men Farrugia’s win helps Żurrieq extend their lead at the top, as Mellieħa AC leapfrogs Evolve Endurance Club in second place. Among the women, Pembroke’s top two placings further enhance the team’s bid to retain the title.
The league will reach its mid-point with the next race on 18th January, a 10km race around Ta’ Qali, hosted by Athletics Malta, which will also serve as a National Championship on the distance.
