Robin Williams’s son Zak became a father and gave first child his father’s second name McLaurin

Robin Williams’ son Zak just became a father, and he and his fiancee, Olivia June, paid tribute to the late comedian with their newborn son’s name.

“Introducing you to my little family!” June wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday. “My fiancé, Zak, and I were so happy to welcome baby McLaurin to the world on May 22nd.” .

Zak Williams, 36, has named his son McLaurin Clement Williams, giving his son his dad’s middle name, according to People. McLaurin was Robin Williams’ middle name.

Baby McLaurin arrives almost five years on from Robin’s death.

Zak welcomed the baby with his fiancee Olivia June on 22 May.

Zak is the eldest child of Robin, and since his dad took his own life in 2014, he has been a mental health advocate. His partner Olivia is the CEO of women empowerment app Hey! and also founded a tech-startup.

Speaking previously in an interview about his late dad, Zak said he missed him ‘all the time’.

In a biography about his dad, named Robin, Zak said: “I’m kicking myself for not visiting him during that time. “Because I think that was a very lonely period for him. In retrospect, I feel like I should have been there, spending time with him. Because someone who needs support was not getting the support he needed.”
