Irish airline Ryanair said Thursday it will resume flights to and from Israel as of June 3 following the decision of Ben Gurion International Airport to re-open a low-cost terminal.

“It is great news that Ben Gurion Airport is re-opening Terminal 1, which has enabled Ryanair to resume our Tel Aviv operations from Monday, 3rd June, with 40 weekly flights to/from key markets such as Cyprus, Germany, Greece, and Italy,” said a Ryanair spokesperson.

The airline will operate 40 flights per week to/from Athens, Bari, Berlin, Budapest, Malta, Milan and Paphos.

Most large international airlines suspended flights to Israel after the Oct. 7 attacks by the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

In December, Lufthansa Group Airlines announced its plan to resume flights to Tel Aviv as of Jan. 8, initially with 20 connections per week.

Ryanair had earlier resumed flights to Ben Gurion in February, but suspended them again the same month due to a dispute over which terminal the airline could use.
