Ryanair turbulence across Europe effects thousands of passengers

Irish Mirror reports that Ryanair pilots based in Ireland are entering their fourth day of strike action today. The workers have downed tools again over the ongoing dispute with the budget carrier over seniority.

The airline said 20 flights have been cancelled due to the strikes and claims all passengers have been refunded or re-accommodated. And yesterday, trade union Forsa announced another day of strikes after ongoing talks with Ryanair management failed to make progress.

They will down tools again on Friday August 10 for the fifth time in a month.

A union representative said: “For over a month, the union has said that industrial action is likely to continue until there is substantial movement on the pilots’ reasonable demands for an agreement on a fair and transparent approach to base transfers and related matters.”
