The Hospital staff who saved the lives of poisoned Russians Sergei and Yulia Skripal, revealed to the BBC, the concerns they had when it emerged they were dealing with victims of a nerve agent attack.

The hospital staff wasn’t aware from the beginning, what they were treating them for, when the Skripals were admitted at Salisbury District Hospital. NHS staff  said they initially suspected the victims were suffering an opioid overdose but quickly realised they were dealing with a nerve agent.

Nursing director Lorna Wilkinson said a key moment came when policeman Nick Bailey was admitted with similar symptoms. “There was a real concern as to how big this could get,” she said.
