Sea-Watch calls for safe port for the 33 migrants on board in the Mediterranean

It is not a sos, but almost. And it is launched via Twitter. It reads like this: “We need a safe port”

The NGO Sea Watch, whose ship is now south-east of Lampedusa, with on board 33 migrants of 17 different nationalities saved last Saturday in the central Mediterranean sent this message.

The organization has requested – for now without success – in Malta and Italy the authorization to land. And yesterday the crew urged the intervention of the German authorities. Still there was no response from the Italian authorities.

Italy “has opened the heart and also the wallet enough, we count on the Germans, the Spaniards, the Dutch, the French. In Italy in the past years has landed more than 700 thousand people.I would say that the heart and the wallet we have open abundantly: now it’s up to the others “, said the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Salvini.
