Seven in ten employers expect labour costs to rise this year: The Headlines – The Malta Independent

The Malta Independent quotes a report by the Malta Employers Association indicating that shortage of employees and rising property prices are pushing up labour costs. More than three-fourths of employers say they expect labour costs to go up this year compared to 2018.

A second story in The Malta Independent reports on a seven-year prison sentence handed to John Paul Charles Woods, who pleaded guilty to charges of an attempted hold-up on a shop in Gżira. The man has also been linked with an ongoing case of Charlene Farrugia who went missing in 2008.
