Slideshow: Easter celebrations around the world

Easter is the most important and oldest Christian festival and marks the death and resurrection Jesus Christ. The feast is fixed onto the first Sunday after the first full moon following the northern spring equinox.

Catholics and Protestants mark Easter on Sunday, while eastern Orthodox Christians celebrated Palm Sunday, with Easter Sunday coming for them on April 28.
